Providence Health & Services Dosimetrist I in Centralia, Washington

Description:

Providence is calling a Dosimetrist (Per Diem 0.0 FTE, Day Shift) to Radiant Care Lacey at Providence Centralia Hospital in Centralia, WA.

The dosimetrist shall perform services requiring substantial knowledge in anatomy, radiation physics, radiation biology and radiation therapy technique. The dosimetrist is an active participant in the treatment planning and is directly accountable and responsible for the quality of treatment plans generated.

In this position you will:

  • Adhere to the principles and requirements outlined in the Commitments and Compliance Integrity Program and any other organization or departmental materials related to compliance with laws, regulatory requirements.

  • Adhere to Medicare and Medicaid regulations which directly or indirectly relate to the performance and job expectations.

  • Participate in departmental and organization performance improvement activities in accordance with hospital and joint commission standards.

  • Demonstrate leadership by performing his/her work in a manner that meets or exceeds the level of care and service that Providence promotes to the communities we serve.

  • Participate in hospital and department specific practices to maintain a clean, safe and comfortable environment for patients and staff.

  • Maintain the security and confidentiality of data and information used in performance of his/her daily duties conforming to hospital policy, laws and regulations as appropriate.

  • Follow established policies and procedures to identify and reduce the risks of acquiring or transmitting infection.

  • Maintain positive working relationships and fosters a cooperative work environment.

  • Communicate effectively with patients, physicians and staff in a professional manner.

  • Provide clear, concise, pertinent reports/information.

  • Recognize and report signs/symptoms of abuse and neglect for all ages of patients served.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Actively enrolled in a Bachelor's of Science program for Certified Medical Dosimetrists

  • Certified Medical Dosimetrist or eligible for obtaining within one year of date of hire.

  • Knowledgeable regarding radiation therapy technique, radiobiology and radiation physics.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Graduate of Associate's Degree in a Radiation Therapy program

  • In lieu of a Bachelors degree required to have a minimum of 2 years related Dosimetrist experience.

  • 2 years prior to attending a Registered Radiation Therapist in a dosimetry school
