Providence Health & Services Medical Technologist in Centralia, Washington

Description:

Providence is calling a Medical Technologist (1.0 FTE, Variable) to Centralia Hospital in Centralia, WA.

We are seeking a medical technologist to perform the essential laboratory testing that is critical to the detection, diagnosis, and treatment of disease.

In this position you will:

  • Perform routine and complextests in hematology, chemistry, microbiology, and immunohematology

  • Be responsible for planning,performing and evaluating laboratory testing analysis

  • Lead and direct day to day workof technicians and other personnel

  • Establish and/or maintaincommunications with physicians, patients, other hospital personnel,professional associations, and other organizations

  • Respond to phone requests orpicks up the requisitions and specimens within the time limit set by thelaboratory

  • Perform phlebotomy duties oninpatient, outpatient and emergency department patients

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

·

Bachelor’s

degree in Medical Technology or related science program OR Associate’s degree

in related health science.

·

ASCP

licensed as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical

Laboratory Technician (if eligible to sit for exam, must be completed within

six months of hire).

·

Working

knowledge of computer application software and LIS (Laboratory Information

System)

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Experience in a medicallaboratory
