Providence Health & Services Radiological Technologist Non-Registered - Imaging Services in Centralia, Washington
Providence is calling a Non-Registered Radiological Technologist (Imaging Services Dept., Per Diem, Variable Shift) Providence Centralia Hospital in Centralia, WA.
The Non-Registered Radiological Tech position performs limited (within scope of license) radiological procedures and assists the radiologists in exams and procedures to obtain a diagnosis that will provide the best possible care for the patient.
In this position you will:
Perform limited (within scope of license) radiological procedures.
Assist radiologists in exams and procedures.
Obtains diagnostic high quality imaging studies.
Able to achieve proper density and contrast for radiographic and fluoroscopic studies. Includes selection of proper use of MAS and KVP, and use of proper collimation.
Properly positions patient for radiographic and fluoroscopic studies. Includes following prescribed protocols as well as achieving proper positioning.
Understands and is able to operate all x-ray equipment within Diagnostic Imaging x-ray department, in operating room, and portable x-ray and fluoro (c-arm) equipment.
Demonstrates knowledge and ability to interpret radiology orders and takes steps to problem solve discrepant orders efficiently.
Properly protects patient and self from effects of radiation including use of proper collimation on all images, and use of protective equipment for patient and self.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school diploma or equivalent
Current BLS certification
Washington State Registration as x-ray technician
Coursework/Training - currently enrolled in a two year ARRT certified community college/vocational training program
Minimum of six months experience in all areas of radiography
Knowledge of equipment associated with a Radiographic Department
