Providence Health & Services Registered Nurse (RN) Acute Care Fellow - Emergency Services in Centralia, Washington
Providence is calling a RN Fellow – Emergency Services (0.9 FTE, Variable Shift) to Providence Centraila in Centraila, Washington.
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional, comprehensive nursing care for patients in an acute care environment. Working with a preceptor and assuming increasing responsibility during the fellowship, the RN Fellow is accountable for the delivery of coordinated, safe, compassionate, therapeutic, evidence-based quality care to patients and families, based on individual physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, and appropriate care strategies throughout the lifespan. Practices in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act in the state of employment, the American Nurses Association (ANA) Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the ANA scope and standards of practice. Key functions and specific skills for the job are found in the unit specific onboarding checklist and in standards that are applicable to the specialty.
In this position you will:
Work with a preceptor and assume increasing responsibility during the fellowship.
Demonstrate competencies in populations served at completion of fellowship.
Assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate patient’s care to achieve patient goals and to optimize outcomes.
Effectively advocate for ethical and holistic care by partnering in care planning to promote the autonomy, dignity, rights values and beliefs of those we serve.
Foster a learning environment for patient/families, nursing, and other members of the healthcare team including students.
Align practice with safety and quality. Be accountable for safety. Identify and correct problems.
Engage in ongoing professional development; promote a culture of inquiry that explores, integrates and disseminates research and evidence based practice.
Lead and coordinate teams, delegate, coordinate care and collaborate with others as equal members of the inter-professional care team to integrate nursing knowledge
Required qualifications for this position include:
Nursing degree/diploma upon hire
Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) or higher required within three (3) years
A RN with 20 years of RN experience will not be required to obtain a BSN
1 year nursing experience but new to specialty of hire
Caregivers who are Nursing Resource/Float Pool RNs are expected to possess/obtain the required certifications for all units in which they provide care.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be from American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network (MTN). All applicable caregivers need to renew every 2 years.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) must be from American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network (MTN). All applicable caregivers need to renew every 2 years.
Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) must be from American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)/American Heart Association (AHA). All applicable caregivers need to renew every 2 years.
Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) must be from Emergency Nurses Association (ENA). All applicable caregivers need to renew every 3 years.
Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) must be from Emergency Nurses Association (ENA). All applicable caregivers need to renew every 4 years.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing upon hire.
