Providence Health & Services Respiratory Therapy Assistant in Centralia, Washington
Providence is caling for a Respiratory Therapy Assistant (Per Diem 0.0 FTE, Variable Shift) to Providence Centralia Hospital in Centralia, WA .
We are seeking a Respiratory Therapy Assistant to be responsible for the delivery of electrocardiograms, clerical support and other respiratory duties.
In this position you will:
Performs electrocardiograms and other respiratory duties for the department. Standards:
Performs daily oxygen rounds every shift. Supply all designated areas with proper levels of respiratory care equipment.
Retrieves equipment needed for a respiratory care practitioner.
Collects dirty equipment from nursing and patient care areas.
Performs electrocardiograms, implementing clinical and technical aspects of care in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Consistently intervenes with appropriate technique procedure and safety precautions to meet the individual needs of the patients.
Obtains instruction and supervision as necessary before implementing new and unfamiliar techniques or practices.
Assumes responsibility for prompt and accurate implementation of physician orders.
Immediately notifies Charge Nurse of changes in patient status or questionable orders.
Effectively documents all patient information without errors, noting name, date, time, and physician.
Provides clerical assistance to the Respiratory Care Department to include: Standards:
Copying, faxing and mailing all reports.
Typing when necessary.
Notification of needed supplies.
Contributes to the smooth operation of the department. Standards:
Promptly reports potential hazards to person in charge.
Maintains an uncluttered, clean, efficient, and attractive work area.
Uses supplies and equipment judiciously and economically.
Keeps equipment clean and performing correctly.
Consistently performs within the infection control guidelines.
Demonstrates tactful, effective communication skills.
Demonstrates competence in organizing skills, creative problem solving, and priority setting.
Adaptable to change in policies and procedures.
Acts as a resource person regarding clerical support for students, agency personnel, and new employees.
Demonstrates knowledge of and follows chain of command, is directly accountable to department manager and is supportive of subordinate personnel.
Required qualifications for this position include:
- AHA BLS
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- H.S. Diploma or GED
