Providence Speech Language Pathologist in Centralia, Washington
Providence is calling a Speech Language Pathologist (0.5 FTE, Day Shift) to Providence Centralia Hospital in Centralia, WA.
Provides diagnostic and therapeutic treatment to patients who exhibit speech language or swallowing disorders and are inpatients or outpatients of Providence Centralia Hospital or are seen through contractual speech/language services. Education of staff, patients and family is emphasized relative to diagnosed speech language or swallowing disorder.
In this position you will:
Provides initial patient evaluation in accordance to physician request in order to initiate appropriate treatment, which is reasonable in the terms of accepted practice and necessary to recovery of function
Utilizes department forms and protocol. Utilizes age appropriate knowledge to determine treatment plan.
When necessary seeks additional information from MD, other staff, and family.
Evaluation shall include; history, chief complaint, examination and recommendation for treatment.
Establishes treatment goals and plan of care based on assessment and test results. Plan based on assessed data.
Provides therapy treatment to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability.
Utilizes modalities, procedures, mobilizations, exercise activities and tests as appropriate to age and culture
Re-Evaluation of patient and adjustments in treatment plan is based on acceptable practices
The ability to instruct the patient to achieve maximum compliance with treatment and results in a minimal amount of time or provide education to patients and their families to achieve maximal results.
Utilizes appropriate documentation in accordance to department policy and consistent with profession practices regulatory agencies and insurance providers.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Master's Degree -A graduate of a program approved by the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA).
WA State Speech-Language Pathologist License
American Speech-Language Hearing Association certification.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS).
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Experience with clinical responsibilities in a hospital, clinic, home health or skilled nursing facility or other related medical field
